first mile done
I'm sitting on a bench in the laundry room of the apartment complex across the hall from the fitness center. I'm dripping with sweat and feel like I've gotten a good workout this morning. The pain in my lower right leg wasn't horrible.
I brought a large plastic cup of water with me because drinking out of a water fountains isn't always a pleasant experience.
Listening to"Rockstar" by Nickelback on repeat worked for me again as I can't really tell when the song ends and when it starts all over again keeping me from focusing on how many songs I've listened to during my mile. I try to focus on the distance and modify speed along with elevation. I know that my ideal would be to speedwalk 3 miles in 39 minutes. I've done that before albeit eight years ago but still, I know I can do it. I will eventually be back to that level of fitness, which is why I will be back in the gym this evening on that darn treadmill.
